A democrat, a libertarian, and a horse walk into a bar...

Are there songs that you never get sick of? I've been trying to compile a list of songs that I'm always happy to hear. Interestingly enough, most are from artists that I, otherwise, don't really care much about. I have some of the records, but all of them were bought at huge discounts. Here's what I have so far:

In the Meantime - Spacehog
Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve
Pepper - The Butthole Surfers
Out Of My Head - Fastball
No Rain - Blind Mellon
Friends In Low Places - Garth Brooks
Follow You Down - The Gin Blossoms
Semi-charmed Life - Third Eye Blind
All These Things That I've Done - The Killers
Flagpole Sitta - Harvey Danger
Hey Ya - Outkast

I don't know why, but even when those songs were still getting massive radio play, I never got sick of them. I'm still really happy when they come on. What are yours?

  1. I'm totally with you on Bittersweet Symphony and Semi-charmed Life.

    Counting Blue Cars - Dishwalla

    The Way - Fastball

Sex and Candy - Marcy Playground

Paper Planes - MIA (I am pretty embarrassed about this one. I think I've hated everything else I've heard of hers, but that song is some kind of weird magic.)

99 Luftballoons - Nena (but only the German version, damnit.)

    Steal My Sunshine - LEN

Start Wearing Purple - Gogol Bordello

Creeque Alley - The Mammas and the Papas

Time of the Season - The Zombies

Home - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes

  2. Oh, and Oxford Comma by Vampire Weekend. I cannot get enough of that song. I like about half of their stuff, not really crazy about it, but that song is some kind of magic.

  3. I'm the same way about that MIA song.

  4. Elephant Gun - Beirut
My Body's a Zombie for You - Dead Man's Bones (extremely embarrassed by this one, but I actually like this album a lot)
Look Good In Leather - Cody ChestnuTT

  5. "All things eventually lose their magic."

  6. I love this post. I agree with you on a few of those songs. Here are some more:

  9. That one song that's like "Cum on Feel the Noize. Girls rock your boyz. We get wild wild wild. Oh yeah!" That one is the shit.

  10. pretty good list, taylor. my brain is dead from giving the taks test for the past two days...i can't think of anything right now. but i agree with a lot of the ones other people have said so far! oh wait, just thought of two...good vibrations by marky mark and the funky bunch and black hole sun by soundgarden.

  11. Hey Ya for sure, Gin Blossoms too but mine would be Hey Jealousy.
