That's some real conversation for your ass.

When I first started this blog, I had an idea to occasionally make digital mixtapes and post them for readers to download. Leah didn't think it was that cool of an idea so I never did it.

Anyway, I decided to do it this weekend. I had to break it up into 2 parts though, so be sure to download both.

Here is part 1.
Here is part 2.

Here's the track listing:
1. Civil Twilight - The Weakerthans
2. Cactus Flower Rag - Harper Simon
3. Drummer - Coconut Records
4. Moses of the South - Colour Revolt
5. Bloodbook on the Half Shell - Danielson
6. Bearing Witness - David Bazan
7. Still Lost - The Features
8. What Should We Do With Your Body? (The Lightning) - The Paper Chase
9. Mama, I'm Satan - Cursive
10. The Songs of National Freedom - Richard Swift
11. Wait For Me - Sean Lennon
12. The Shadow Proves The Sunshine - Switchfoot
13. Die A Little - Viva Voce
14. She's Walking Out - The Stills
15. Beautiful Child - Rufus Wainwright

Enjoy!

  1. Nice idea. I'm glad to see The Weakerthans and Danielson on here. I didn't think anyone else liked Danielson.
'Did Bitch's Ain't Shit' not make the cut?

  2. Ha! No, "Bitches Ain't Shit" is only reserved for mix tapes that are specifically for wooing ladies.
I've always known about Danielson, and I guess on some level, always wanted to like them, but their early stuff is so unlistenable. We saw the doccumentary and got intrigued with Ships though, and it turned out to be an amazing record.
I was turned on to The Weakerthans by my Canadian wife. I absolutely adore their last two records.

  3. As my husband already mentioned, we are a Weakerthans, Ben Folds and Ships loving household.

Also, I thought I would let you know that the creators of Glee have expressed interest in doing a Britney Spears episode.

  4. If they do a "Sting and The Police" episode, I'm seriously done.

  5. Seriously, the creators of Glee can officially lick on these nuts and suck the dick.

  6. yeah, Ships is really the only Danielson record that can be actually listened to. I've tried really hard on a few of the others without success.
My wife also turned me onto the Weakerthans.
